Pompeii

On Sunday morning, we left Naples for a guided tour of Pompeii, before our return to Rome. Our guide, again, was excellent. I was most taken by how developed the city was at the time of its burial, and how deeply it had been buried, as indicated by the elevation of some of the buildings building that had been constructed at "ground level" prior to discovery of the ruins.
